Privacy Policy
What TaskDock stores, what it never does, and how this website treats visitors.
TaskDock is built so that your tasks never leave your computer. This policy explains what the app and this website do with information.
The short version
- TaskDock has no account, no sign-in and no cloud sync.
- The app does not connect to the internet and has no telemetry or analytics.
- Your tasks, notes, focus sessions and settings are stored only on your computer.
- This website uses no cookies and no trackers.
The TaskDock app
What it stores
Only what you enter and what its features need, in a local database in your user profile:
- tasks, projects, tags, notes and subtasks,
- focus sessions (start, end, length, task),
- your distraction list,
- settings and window positions,
- a small activity log that powers History and Analytics.
This data is not sent to the publisher or to anyone else. We cannot see it and cannot recover it for you. Export or back it up from Settings, then Data.
What it does not do
- No network requests of its own: no update checks, no remote content, no crash reports.
- No monitoring of what you open, and no website or application blocking. The distraction list is text you write yourself.
- No reading of files other than the ones you choose to import.
Links that open your browser
Buttons on the About page open pages of this website in your default browser. That only happens when you click, and your browser then talks to this website like any other visit (see below).
Windows permissions
TaskDock asks Windows only for: windows and tray, notifications, global shortcuts, launching at startup (if you enable it), and file pickers for import and export.
Privacy while sharing your screen
Settings, then Privacy, lets you:
- hide TaskDock from screen sharing, screenshots and recordings (Windows then draws it as blank to capture tools, while you still see it),
- blur task names until you point at them,
- replace task names in the tray and notifications with generic text.
These are conveniences, not a guarantee. Some capture tools, remote-access software or a camera pointed at your screen can still show what you see.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling TaskDock leaves the data folder in place. Delete the folder (Settings, Data, Open folder) to remove everything.
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Like any web host, the hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and operation. We do not combine these with anything else.
Downloads
Installers are stored in a public GitHub repository. When you download one, GitHub receives the request and handles it under GitHub's own privacy statement. The download page reads a small public file from that repository to show the latest version; that request also goes to GitHub.
Children
TaskDock collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes. Because the app collects nothing, a change to what the app does with data would come with a new version of the app and a note in the changelog.
