What TaskDock stores, and what it never does.

TaskDock is local-first software.

What it stores

Only what you enter and what the features need, on your computer:

  • tasks, projects, tags, notes and subtasks,
  • focus sessions (start, end, length, task),
  • your distraction list,
  • settings and window positions,
  • a small activity log that powers History and Analytics.

What it does not do

  • No account or sign-in.
  • No network access. The app does not connect to servers, check for updates, or load remote content.
  • No telemetry or analytics. Nothing about you or your usage is collected.
  • No cloud sync and no AI features.
  • No website or application blocking, and no monitoring of what you open. The distraction list is text you write yourself.
  • No reading of files other than the ones you choose to import.

Your control

Export, back up or erase everything at any time from Settings → Data. The data folder is ordinary files you can inspect. Uninstalling leaves the data folder in place; delete it if you want it gone.

Notifications and the tray

Notifications and the tray menu can show task names. Under Settings → Privacy you can show generic text instead, blur task names until you point at them, and hide TaskDock from screen sharing and recordings. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Permissions

The app asks Windows for only: windows and tray, notifications, global shortcuts, launching at startup (if you enable it), and file pickers for import and export.
